Map of xPON providers in the Diya app
The Diya app will feature a map of xPON providers that will allow Ukrainians to check their connection to an energy-independent internet network. The service launch is scheduled for January 2026, which will be an important step in the development of telecommunications infrastructure in Ukraine.
As of today, over 2.1 million households in Ukraine are already connected to xPON technology. As part of government initiatives, this figure is planned to be increased to 60% of all fixed networks. The xPON technology is capable of providing up to 72 hours of uninterrupted internet with speeds of up to 1 Gbit/s, which is a significant improvement over traditional solutions.
Impact on telecommunications in Ukraine
The Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov noted that the implementation of the provider map will create healthy competition among operators and increase the resilience of telecom infrastructure across Ukraine.
The introduction of the map of xPON providers in the Diya app could be a significant step in improving access to internet services in Ukraine, especially in the context of ongoing challenges related to ensuring energy independence. Given the government's plans to expand coverage to 60% of fixed networks, this could significantly enhance the quality of communication for many Ukrainians, which will be an important factor in the development of the economy and the social sphere of the country.
Furthermore, considering the competitive environment, the map may stimulate operators to improve their services and conditions for consumers.
