Dynamo Kyiv's Search for a New Youth Coach
Dynamo Kyiv had identified former player Ognjen Vukojević as a candidate to take over as head coach of their U-19 team, but the Croatian has opted to remain in his homeland. Vukojević, who played for Dynamo intermittently between 2008 and 2015, was considered to replace Igor Kostyuk after he was promoted to lead the senior squad. The former midfielder is currently employed by Zagreb-based club Rudeš, where he coaches their U-17 side. This move highlights the competitive market for coaching talent across European football.
Dynamo's U-19 side went into the winter break holding second place in the Ukrainian youth championship, trailing Shakhtar Donetsk's U-19 team by four points. Their recent campaign also included participation in the knockout stages of the UEFA Youth League. Vukojević's coaching resume includes a previous stint as an assistant to Romanian manager Mircea Lucescu at Dynamo, along with experience working with the Croatian U-20 national team and serving as a scout for both the national side and Dynamo.

In other club news, Dynamo recently secured young talent Bohdan Redushko on a new contract that runs until the end of 2030. Redushko made his first-team debut on December 1st, marking the occasion with an assist. Separately, a new film titled 'Interception Game' has been released, focusing on the Mykhailenko brothers: Dynamo midfielder Mykola and his brother Serhii, a commander of a mobile anti-aircraft defense unit. The film was directed by Volodymyr Mula.
