The Ukrainian government has allowed assessments of destroyed housing in areas of potential combat. According to the Ministry of Community and Territory Development, this mechanism has already been in place in areas of active combat and is now being expanded to regions where combat may occur. 175 communities in nine regions can now take advantage of this opportunity.

'Today we are expanding the mechanism of remote assessment to areas of potential combat. This means that even more people will be able to receive housing certificates for new homes, even if their housing has been destroyed by Russian aggression. We are working to ensure that every family can count on state support.'
- emphasized Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine and Minister of Community and Territory Development.

Remote assessment: how does it work?

Commissions use satellite images, drone footage, as well as photos and videos to assess housing. After that, a report is compiled, based on which a housing certificate can be obtained for new housing.

The government's resolution allowing the assessment of destroyed housing in areas of potential combat will enable more people to receive assistance and housing certificates for new housing, even in the event of housing destruction in areas where potential conflicts are still ongoing.
