Malta Officially Announced as Host of Junior Eurovision 2026

Мальта підтвердила своє бажання приймати молодіжний Євробачення у 2026 році.

Junior Eurovision 2026

Junior Eurovision 2026 is set to take place in Malta on October 24, 2026, at the MFCC exhibition complex in Ta' Qali. This will mark the 24th edition of the competition and represents a significant milestone for the country, which previously hosted the event in 2014 and 2016.

France, the winner of the previous contest, declined the opportunity to host. The 2025 Junior Eurovision was won by Lou Deleuze with the song Ce monde. Organizers have expressed confidence in Malta's ability to deliver a top-tier event. Keith Chetkuti, a representative of the organizing committee, described this as

the greatest honor for Malta, calling it the most passionate fan and reliable ally of the Eurovision family.

Malta's Hospitality

Plans include creating a Eurovision Festa Village at the venue, adding extra appeal for participants and audiences alike. Malta is well-known for its success at Junior Eurovision, having won the competition in 2013 and 2015. In 2013, Gaia Cauchi triumphed with The Start, and in 2015, Destiny Chukunyere took the crown with Not My Soul.

As a result, Junior Eurovision 2026 promises to be a vibrant event highlighting Malta's cultural significance within the European music contest landscape.

Hosting Junior Eurovision not only underscores the competition's importance to Malta but also showcases its ability to draw European attention to its culture and traditions. The country's past successes reflect a strong youth music scene, which could encourage new talent to participate. Furthermore, staging the event during such a pivotal period for Malta may boost its image and tourism appeal across Europe.

As Malta prepares to welcome the Junior Eurovision 2026, the country's recent return to the Eurovision stage with a song in its native language highlights a renewed commitment to its musical heritage. This pivotal moment not only emphasizes Malta's vibrant cultural landscape but also demonstrates its evolving role within the Eurovision family.
