In the last ten days, diesel in Ukraine has increased in price by 10-14 UAH per liter, while gasoline has risen by 4-8 UAH. Experts suggest that under unfavorable scenarios, diesel may approach the 100 UAH mark in the first half of August. This is reported by RBC-Ukraine.
What are the prices for gasoline and diesel at the end of July 2026
At the gas stations of 'Ukrnafta', gasoline A-95 costs 79.90 UAH per liter, diesel fuel starts from 86.90 UAH, and autogas is about 41 UAH. In the networks of OKKO and WOG, the A-95 gasoline is sold for 82.90-83.50 UAH, diesel for 90.90-91.80 UAH, and gas for 42 UAH.
The highest prices among the mentioned networks are recorded at SOCAR. There, one liter of A-95 costs 85.40 UAH, branded diesel over 95.90 UAH, and autogas 42.90 UAH.
The price of diesel has increased the most. In some cases, the wholesale price has already exceeded the retail price, so networks may continue to revise prices on the shelves.
Why fuel prices have sharply increased in Ukraine
Several factors have simultaneously influenced the price. Due to escalating tensions in the Middle East, shipping in key straits has become complicated, pushing oil quotations and the cost of finished oil products in Europe upwards.
Ukraine predominantly imports finished fuel. The shortage of free supplies in Europe forces operators to purchase smaller volumes and deliver them by tankers from Romania, increasing logistics costs.
An additional factor has been the transition to E10 gasoline with bioethanol. At the same time, this standard applies to gasoline, not diesel, so the current spike in diesel prices is primarily explained by the situation with imports, the wholesale market, and logistics.
Will there be a shortage of gasoline and diesel in August
Experts quoted by RBC-Ukraine do not predict a nationwide shortage: the necessary volumes of fuel have already been contracted. However, there may be local interruptions by mid-September, when a certain type of fuel is temporarily unavailable at individual gas stations.
According to one scenario, without government decisions regarding taxes or compensations, diesel may approach 100 UAH per liter by August 10, with gasoline reaching up to 95 UAH. This is a forecast, not a set price.
Autogas remains the cheapest type of fuel for now. A sharp increase in its price is not expected in August, but the situation may change in the fall due to seasonal demand in Europe and complicated maritime logistics.
