In the expenditures of the state budget for 2026, funding for increasing teachers' salaries has been increased by Uah 4.8 billion before the second reading. This is reported by Ukrinform.
Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko stated in the Verkhovna Rada that the government has secured the necessary resources, and the increase in teachers' salaries has been identified as one of the key priorities.
Increase in teachers' salaries in 2026
According to Marchenko, the government has allocated the following indicators:

from January 1, 2026, the average salary will rise from Uah 16.7 thousand to Uah 21.7 thousand

from September 1, 2026, to Uah 30 thousand.
The minister clarified that final calculations are still ongoing and specific amounts depend on further decisions by the Cabinet, however, the necessary funding has already been provided for in the budget.
What else was considered in the 2026 budget
During the preparation of the document for the second reading, the government maintained the level of funding for healthcare that was proposed in the first reading. As Marchenko explained, this will strengthen the medical system's operations and ensure the stability of core programs.
Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada approved in the second reading and as a whole Bill No. 14000 'On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2026.' The document provides for additional expenditures for education, healthcare, and defense, taking into account the requirements of international partners and the internal financial needs of the state.
