Cultural and Entertainment Events in Kyiv: May 30–31

Kyiv is set to celebrate its annual City Day with a packed lineup of activities spanning workshops, exhibitions, fairs, theater, concerts, and stand-up comedy on May 30–31. This weekend offers residents and visitors a chance to explore the capital's vibrant cultural scene.

Highlights

  • On May 30 at 12:00 PM, a masterclass will be held at the Museum of the Occupation of Kyiv.

  • From 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, the Ivan Honchar Museum hosts a folk art fair, which continues on May 31.

  • On the final day, May 31, the Ivan Honchar Museum presents the "Vodinnia Kusta" ritual ceremony.

  • Current exhibitions in Kyiv include:

    • "ARS: Ukrainian Embroidery" at the National Museum of Ukrainian Decorative Art, running until August 31, 2026.
    • "Precious Heritage of Cossack Ukraine" at the Treasury of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine, open through January 1, 2028.
    • "I Shook This World," celebrating the 90th anniversary of artist Ivan Marchuk, on display until June 21, 2026.

Theater performances scheduled for these days include:

  • "The Magnificent Century. The Funny One," starting May 30 at 2:00 PM at the Golden Gate Theatre. Cast: Anastasiia Babii, Bohdan Builuk, Veronika Vereshchaka, Iryna Hryshak, Roman Kucheriavenko, Khrystia Liuba, Roman Mulenko, Artem Plonder, Andrii Polishchuk, Natasha Telly, and Rob Feldman.

  • On May 30–31 at 5:00 PM, the Suziria Theatre presents "Looks Like Happiness," featuring Ada Rohovtseva.

  • "All Mice Love Cheese," starring Serhii Kalantai and Anatolii Hnatiuk, takes place on May 30 at 12:00 PM at the Officers' House of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

  • "Volcano of Passion" with Oleh Savkin and Iryna Novak is set for May 31 at 4:00 PM at the Lesia Ukrainka National Academic Drama Theatre.

The concert lineup features:

  • Performances at the "Generation" festival, held May 30–31 at VDNH. On May 30, Mika Newton, Vitalii Kozlovskyi, Gaitana, and Alibi take the stage; on May 31, it's Lama, Zhenia Halych, and Sviatoslav Vakarchuk.
  • On May 30 at 8:00 PM, Chico & Qatoshi perform at Feels Garden, followed by Positiff on May 31 at 7:00 PM.
  • Also on May 31 at 7:00 PM, Taras Petrynenko and Tetiana Horobets will perform at the International Center of Culture and Arts.

Stand-up comedy is also on the agenda:

  • On May 30 at 7:00 PM, DoskaBar hosts a stand-up show with comedians Natalia Skoryk, Andrii Okhramovych, Nastia Brynza, Hanna Kochehura, Oleksandr Korostelin, and Ivan Barbul, hosted by Serhii Maistrenko.
  • On May 31 at 6:30 PM, a City Day stand-up event takes place on the rooftop of Kooperativ.

Additionally, on May 30 at 6:00 PM, Inki Bar will throw a "Graduation 2026" party featuring a costume-themed atmosphere, exclusive shows, DJ sets, Instagram-worthy photo zones, and plenty of nostalgia. The dress code includes graduation sashes, school uniforms, gowns, cheerleader outfits, academic caps, or any aesthetic graduation-style clothing.
