On the Day of Local Self-Government, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, established the honorary award 'Community-Saviors'. This award is designed to recognize the territorial communities of Ukraine that provide humanitarian protection and assistance to the frontline territorial communities and defense forces.
These communities participate in strengthening the country's defense capabilities during the repulse of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, and also provide significant support in protecting the independence and sovereignty of Ukraine.
‘The award 'Community-Savior' is appreciation for these daily steps. The country recognizes the contribution of communities that work in difficult conditions and provide people with the necessary support. Each community has its own stories of tough decisions, assistance, interaction, and caring for people, and this is what forms the resilience of the country. Our people demonstrate unity and solidarity every day, standing shoulder to shoulder to support those who find themselves in the most challenging conditions of war. Thank you to all who work in communities and in local self-government,’ said Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction - Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba.
