In Ukraine, the system of payments for state assistance to families with children is changing. Now all child benefits will be transferred to a single special account of the Diia Card, and the term for using funds will no longer be limited. This was reported by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko.
What Benefits Will Be Transferred to the Diia Card
According to Yulia Svyrydenko, all major types of targeted assistance for families with children will be credited to the unified account.
This includes:
- compensation for the “Baby Package”;
- child care assistance for children under one year;
- the “YeBaby” program;
- payments under the program “School Package.”
The government has also expanded the list of categories of goods and services that can be purchased with these funds.
How the New Child Benefit System Will Work
The special account of the Diia Card can be opened in advance through the application of one of the banks.
After that, when submitting a claim for assistance at:
- the Administrative Service Center (ASC);
- the territorial community;
- the Pension Fund body —
the system will automatically link the already opened account.
If a person has not opened a Diia Card in advance, during the application for assistance, the system will generate a QR code for quick account opening.
After that, it will be possible to immediately finalize the application and receive benefits faster.
What Will Happen to Payments Through Oschadbank
The government notes that Ukrainians will still be able to receive assistance through Oschadbank under the old scheme.
To do this, it will be necessary to contact:
- the ASC;
- the territorial community;
- the Pension Fund body.
Yulia Svyrydenko also clarified that all Diia Card accounts opened from January 1, 2026, will remain valid.
State benefits will continue to be credited to them.
What Child Benefits are in Effect in Ukraine in 2026
As of January 1, 2026, a new procedure for supporting families with children is already in place in Ukraine.
In particular, the one-time assistance for the birth of a child amounts to 50 thousand hryvnias.
For Ukrainian families, this means a gradual transition of all state child benefits to a digital format through the unified account of the Diia Card, which is intended to simplify the application process for assistance and expedite the receipt of funds.
It is worth noting that an updated system of social support for families with children has been implemented in Ukraine, which includes benefits from pregnancy to returning to work. As of the date of publication, nearly 170 thousand families have received state benefits under this system.
