Yevhen Voloshyn was born on September 18, 1978, in the city of Horyshni Plavni in Poltava region. He graduated from the Kharkiv National University of the Air Force named after Ivan Kozhedub in 1999 and was an experienced pilot. The lieutenant colonel and commander of the military helicopter crew was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi III degree.
On March 26, 2017, the helicopter on which Voloshyn was flying crashed near the village of Malynivka. Together with Yevhen, captain Dmytro Movchan and senior lieutenant Roman Kandul died, as well as two passengers - colonels Valerii Melnyk and Viktor Kaltych.
The memory of Voloshyn was immortalized in Poltava, where he was buried. He was posthumously awarded a title in the Book of Honor of the Poltava Regional Council for heroism and devotion to his country.
