Druga Rika’s Charitable Efforts in Support of Ukraine
Ukrainian band Druga Rika successfully collected 12.9 million hryvnias to fund an evacuation boat for the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine. This vessel has now been handed over to intelligence operatives to aid them in their missions. The funds were raised during the "I Am! 30 Years" concert held at Kyiv’s Palace of Sports, as well as throughout part of the band’s nationwide tour.
The sources of funding included:
- ticket sales from concerts,
- charity auctions,
- and the purchase of auction lots.
Among the auction items were personal musical instruments used by band members over their 30-year career. The band expressed their gratitude, stating:
“Thank you to everyone who donated—from just a few hryvnias to hundreds of thousands and millions—each contribution made up the total of 12,900,000. This boat is the result of everyone who joined the cause. We are deeply grateful!”
Ongoing Support and Future Initiatives
In 2024, Druga Rika performed in five European countries and raised over one million hryvnias to purchase boats for the General Intelligence Directorate. The band extended their heartfelt thanks to all supporters, saying:
“We sincerely appreciate everyone who took part in this effort! Thanks to those who bought tickets, donated, participated in charity auctions, and purchased lots—our listeners, friends, partners, and tour organizers—thank you for being part of this crucial initiative.”
During the summer of 2024, Druga Rika, alongside Kozak System and singer Marta Lypcha, completed the main segment of the "Unbroken" charity tour. The proceeds from this tour are dedicated to acquiring FPV drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This phase of their work highlights the band’s ongoing commitment to supporting Ukraine’s military amid current challenges.
The substantial funds raised reflect strong public and cultural backing for Ukraine’s armed forces. Druga Rika’s efforts not only help meet military needs but also unite people around a common goal—supporting Ukraine in a time of crisis. Such initiatives can inspire other artists and civic groups to step up their aid efforts for the army and the country as a whole.
