Emergency Landing Averted Disaster on Flydubai Flight
An Omani co-pilot is under investigation for allegedly attempting to deliberately crash a Flydubai Boeing 737 passenger plane en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv. The aircraft was compelled to make an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia after two passengers, a Ukrainian and a Russian with piloting experience, intervened to regain control. Authorities in Saudi Arabia are currently questioning the suspect while Israeli officials have arranged a special evacuation flight for the 170 Israeli passengers onboard.
The incident unfolded when the Omani co-pilot reportedly tried to seize control of the aircraft with the intent to cause a crash. This led to a violent struggle in the cockpit, creating a dangerous situation onboard. Passengers reported loss of control by the flight crew and visible blood stains on several individuals' shirts. All 170 passengers on the plane were Israeli nationals at the time.

"reports indicate that the additional crew members—a Russian and a Ukrainian traveling as passengers—were ultimately able to bring the plane down safely in Saudi Arabia."
