Emergency Service Recommendations for Road Safety
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) has provided recommendations for drivers to ensure safety on the road during adverse weather conditions. Currently, Ukraine is experiencing deteriorating weather, which may complicate traffic and increase the risk of accidents.
Oleksandr Khorunzhyi, spokesperson of the SES, emphasized that drivers are advised to have winter tires, a shovel, and a tow rope in their vehicles. Additionally, it is important to have a warm blanket and hot tea on the road to be prepared for possible delays.
“The car should be warmed up from time to time to prevent it from freezing,” – Khorunzhyi noted.
Dangerous Routes and Emergency Assistance
Deputy Head of the Patrol Police Department Oleksii Biloshytskyi also warned about dangerous routes. The most challenging situations due to precipitation are recorded in:
- Ivano-Frankivsk
- Lviv
- Rivne
- Ternopil
- Khmelnytskyi
- Vinnytsia
- Zhytomyr regions
In case of an emergency, drivers should call 101 or 102 to receive assistance.
These recommendations are aimed at reducing risks for drivers under poor visibility and slippery roads. By following these tips, drivers can ensure their safety and the safety of other road users.
