Suspects Accused of Torching Luxury Cars in Kyiv
Two men from the Kirovohrad region are facing charges for allegedly setting fire to two luxury SUVs in central Kyiv. The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office reported that the incident occurred around 5 a.m. in January 2025 in the capital's Pechersk district. The fire completely destroyed a Porsche Cayenne, whose owner resides abroad, and a Range Rover Evoque. This type of targeted property crime has become a recurring issue in the city.
The suspects have been formally notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 194 of Ukraine's Criminal Code, which carries a potential prison sentence of 3 to 10 years. Prosecutors stated the arsonists have been detained, and investigators are now working to identify who ordered the crime.

For instance, a 49-year-old man will stand trial for setting a Hyundai on fire last November on Radunska Street in the Desnianskyi district. Separately, police have notified a 27-year-old Kyiv woman of suspicion for torching two cars on Ronald Reagan Street and Chervonoi Kalyny Avenue. Authorities also detained a 22-year-old Kyiv resident suspected of burning a car on the orders of Russian special services, highlighting the potential for such crimes to be linked to broader hostile activities.
