The Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kava, met with representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine and business leaders to discuss the restoration of transport infrastructure and attracting investments in the railway sector. Over the past five years, the government has purchased 166 modern passenger cars, and in 2026, it plans to acquire another 100, including the first domestically produced double-decker passenger car.
Additionally, the meeting addressed the integration of the Ukrainian railway into the European TEN-T network, which receives grant co-financing from the EU. Such measures will optimize costs and improve passenger transportation. Plans also include the construction of European gauge railways to Lviv and other cities in Ukraine.
