Ukrainian rower Anastasia Ryvachok gave birth to a daughter, as reported by 'Gromadske' citing the NOC of Ukraine.
«The National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, led by Vadim Guttsait, sincerely congratulates double Olympic medalist in canoeing Anastasia Ryvachok and her husband, world canoeing champion Andriy Ryvachok, on the birth of their daughter!», – the NOC post reads.
Ryvachok together with Lyudmila Luzan became silver medalists at the last two Olympic Games in the canoe doubles event at a distance of 500 meters.
In 2025, the Ukrainian 'silver' crew of Paris-2024 was not represented at international competitions precisely due to Anastasia's pregnancy. It is recalled that Ukrainian wrestler Alina Grushina-Akobiya announced that she and another Ukrainian wrestler Oleksandr Grushin would become parents.
«A new era in our lives. We are happy and immensely grateful. Another dream is becoming a reality... Now there will be three of us. We are waiting for you our Grushenyatko», – Alina wrote on Instagram.
26-year-old Alina Grushina-Akobiya is a two-time European champion in wrestling and a holder of bronze and silver medals from continental championships. In 2022, she won bronze at the world championship, and at the 2024 Olympics, she reached the quarter-finals of the women's wrestling tournament.
Alina's husband, Oleksandr Grushin, is a bronze and silver medalist of European championships in Greco-Roman wrestling.
Ukrainian athletes Anastasia Ryvachok and Alina Grushina-Akobiya are in joyful moments of their lives - the birth of their daughters. These news brought even more joy to the Ukrainian sports family and highlighted the importance of family values among sports professionals.
