First Look at the 'Ebenezer' Trailer

Paramount Pictures has unveiled the debut trailer for its upcoming Christmas film 'Ebenezer', featuring Johnny Depp as the iconic Ebenezer Scrooge. This movie marks a new take on Charles Dickens' classic tale 'A Christmas Carol'. Scheduled for release on November 13, the project is generating buzz among fans of both classic literature and cinema.

The Creative Team Behind the Film

Director Ti West, known for his work on 'Pearl' and 'MaXXXine', helms 'Ebenezer'. Johnny Depp, celebrated for his diverse acting career, portrays the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge—a role critics are already calling striking and memorable. The cast also includes Daisy Ridley and Sam Claflin, adding further star power to the production.

On July 23, the filmmakers released the official poster, and Depp appeared at San Diego Comic-Con in full Scrooge costume, drawing significant public attention. This project represents Depp's major Hollywood return since his role in 2019's 'Waiting for the Barbarians'. Looking ahead, he is set to star alongside Penélope Cruz in the 2027 action-thriller 'Day Drinker'.

As a result, 'Ebenezer' promises to be a standout addition to holiday movie offerings, also serving as a notable big-screen comeback for Depp in a role that is expected to captivate audiences.

This adaptation of Dickens' timeless story continues the tradition of Christmas films that blend drama with moral lessons. Given the enduring cultural significance of Dickens' work, the new movie is poised to attract both older and younger viewers seeking a festive cinematic experience.

The success of 'Ebenezer' could pave the way for more classic literature adaptations, reflecting a growing appetite for reimagined versions of beloved stories.
