Export Support in Ukraine

In the first quarter of 2026, Ukraine's Export Credit Agency (ECA) facilitated exports valued at 6.14 billion Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH). The agency's activities included insuring 17 loans and supporting 25 separate transactions for 21 Ukrainian exporters. This state-backed financial support is a key tool for helping Ukrainian businesses access international markets.

The ECA's performance ratio indicates that for every hryvnia of liability the agency assumed, it secured 24.2 UAH in future export revenue. The regions of Khmelnytskyi, Lviv, and Chernihiv recorded the highest volumes of supported exports.

Export's Role in the Economy

ECA's export support is a crucial driver for Ukraine's economic development, particularly amid ongoing global challenges. Growth in these regional export figures may signal positive trends within specific industrial sectors, which can subsequently lead to new job creation and increased regional investment. By improving conditions for exporters, such initiatives also enhance the competitiveness of Ukrainian goods in global markets.
