Economic expert Borys Kushniruk pointed out that the declarations of the Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine, Andrii Pyshnyi, over the past four years contain false information about the value of corporate rights of his wife Liudmyla. According to registry data, the wife of the head of the NBU received 10% in a company valued at 14.4 million UAH, however, in the declarations this amount is significantly exceeded.
This discrepancy has been present for four consecutive years, which appears to be a systematic inflation of data rather than a technical error
Borys Kushniruk emphasized that according to the law, submitting false information can have consequences. He urged the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption to conduct an inspection and evaluate the declared data.
Legal liability for false declarations
According to the Criminal Code, declaring false information may entail a fine, community service, restriction or imprisonment for up to 2 years, as well as a ban on holding certain positions for 3 years. Such consequences are clearly specified in the legislation.
During the analysis of the declarations of the Chairman of the National Bank, false data regarding the corporate rights of his wife was revealed. Experts called for an inspection and reminded about the legal liability for submitting false information in declarations.
