Electricity supply will not improve for weeks: expert names the reasons
Ukrainians should not expect significant improvements in electricity supply over the next few weeks due to low temperatures and the consequences of Russian attacks. Head of energy programs at the Ukrainian Institute for the Future, Andrian Prokip, noted that the situation with electricity supply remains complex.
This winter there have already been periods when there was no electricity for 12, 14, and even 16 hours. Prokip emphasized that given the current frost and rising demand, it should not be expected that the electricity supply schedules will be eased over the next two or three weeks. There remains a threat of further strikes from Russia, which could further weaken the country's energy system.
