Energy situation in Ukraine
The energy situation in Ukraine remains critical, despite statements from the Cabinet of Ministers about reducing power outages. Expert Hennadiy Ryabtsev emphasizes that the lack of clear criteria for defining critical infrastructure complicates the situation, which, in turn, does not allow for stable electricity supply to the population.
Recently, the Cabinet of Ministers made statements about intentions to shorten the duration of power outage schedules, however, the real situation requires a more detailed analysis. On December 9, an order was adopted to review the lists of 'untouchable' consumers, but without establishing clear state criteria for defining critical infrastructure, the situation remains uncertain. Hennadiy Ryabtsev noted that
'if the Cabinet of Ministers had established clear criteria, it would have been clear and understandable.'
Complicated situation in the Left Bank
The situation in the Left Bank and in frontline regions remains the most complicated. The shortage of electricity generation persists due to unrestored capacities after shelling, which significantly affects the possibility of stable electricity supply. Damage to transmission lines due to shelling also negatively impacts the energy situation. Hennadiy Ryabtsev points out the lack of equipment for restoring energy nodes, which complicates the process of restoring electricity supply.
It is worth noting that power outages will continue even if shelling stops, which indicates the seriousness of the situation and the need for urgent resolution of problems in the energy sector. The promised redistribution of 1 GW of electricity in favor of the population cannot solve all existing problems, so the energy situation in the country requires a comprehensive approach and clear actions from the state.
In the context of the current energy crisis in Ukraine, it is important to note that the lack of clear criteria for defining critical infrastructure may lead to further complications in ensuring electricity supply. The deficit of generation and damage to infrastructure due to military actions raises concerns about the stability of the energy system, demanding urgent measures for restoration and modernization. Given these factors, the government must consider a comprehensive approach to solving existing problems in the energy sector, which directly affects the wellbeing of the population.
