FIFA has launched an investigation into the activities of the Football Association of Malaysia due to a scandal involving the use of forged documents to obtain citizenship for seven players of the national team. Players who obtained Malaysian citizenship through fraud were banned for a year, and the association itself received a fine of 350,000 Swiss francs. After a refusal to cancel, a full 63-page report was published detailing FIFA's decision.
