FIFA investigates scandal in Malaysia: how document forgery affected the national team

ФІФА розслідує ситуацію в Малайзії: вплив підроблених документів на команду країни.

FIFA has launched an investigation into the activities of the Football Association of Malaysia due to a scandal involving the use of forged documents to obtain citizenship for seven players of the national team. Serious discrepancies were found between the documents and the players' actual birth certificates during the cooperation.

Players who obtained Malaysian citizenship through fraud were banned for a year, and the association itself received a fine of 350,000 Swiss francs. After a refusal to cancel, a full 63-page report was published detailing FIFA's decision.
