European Support Boosts Ukraine's Emergency Services

Ukraine's State Emergency Service (SES) has received 27 generators and one fire truck from European partners. Funded by the European Union, this project was carried out by Lithuania's Central Project Management Agency (CPVA) in partnership with Germany's Stabilization Platform. The entire initiative was completed in just two months.

The generators will be distributed across ten Ukrainian regions. SES Head Andriy Danyk stressed the significance of this assistance, stating:

“International partner support helps rescuers work effectively while dealing with the aftermath of hostile attacks and saving lives.”
He added that 'the generators will provide crucial aid to SES units, especially given the ongoing enemy strikes on energy infrastructure.'

Efficiency and Future Cooperation

Peter Wagner, Director of the European Union's Service for Foreign Policy Instruments, expressed hope that while 'we would prefer there were no need for such measures,' it is encouraging to see the equipment being used effectively to help people. He also noted that cooperation with Ukraine's SES extends beyond fire response to include demining and energy support.

Eglė Uleckienė, Director of the Department for Ukraine's Recovery and Peace Investments at CPVA, remarked that 'the equipment was delivered in the shortest possible time.' She emphasized that 'powerful generators will help ensure electricity for critical infrastructure and residential areas during emergencies.' Uleckienė also indicated plans to continue expanding this support in the future.

This project is part of broader international efforts to assist Ukraine amid ongoing challenges stemming from Russian aggression. By providing technical reinforcements like generators and a fire truck, these initiatives aim to enhance the capabilities of Ukraine's rescue services. Such efforts underscore the importance of global cooperation during crises and the need to ensure public safety in regions most affected by the conflict.
