Evacuation of families from the Preobrazhenska community
The evacuation of 11 people, including two families with small children, took place from the Preobrazhenska community in Zaporizhzhia during shelling. Among the evacuees were four children aged 3 to 12 years. This operation became vital for families trying to escape the danger in the combat zone.
Upon arrival at the transit hub, the families were handed over to volunteers and social service representatives. Rescue officer Yuriy Holinko emphasized the importance of ensuring a safe route for families. He noted:
“Our duty is to provide a safe path for each family. The risks of being in frontline communities are too high, so we do everything possible to ensure that children get to safety as soon as possible.”
An evacuated mother shared her experiences, stating: “Our house is destroyed. But we are alive and must save the children. Leaving was our only chance because we want to live, and our children have the right to a future without fear.” This situation once again highlights the difficulties families face in wartime conditions.
The importance of humanitarian efforts
Evacuating families in frontline areas is an important component of humanitarian efforts in conflict conditions. Such operations not only save lives but also provide people with the opportunity to start a new life in safer regions.
Support from volunteers and social services in this process is critically important to meet the needs of those evacuated, especially children who suffer the most from the consequences of war.
