Evacuation from Frontline Territories: 279 Thousand Ukrainians Await Transportation

Вивіз мешканців з прифронтових регіонів: 279 тисяч українців чекають на перевезення.

Ukraine continues a large-scale evacuation operation of the population from frontline territories. Since June 1, more than 119 thousand people have been evacuated through a network of transit centers, but the need for evacuation remains critically high.

This was reported by Oleksiy Ryabikin, Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, during a briefing. According to him, as of now, 279 thousand people need evacuation, including 15 thousand children and 11.5 thousand representatives of mobility-impaired categories of the population.

'Since June 1, through 20 transit centers that have been deployed in Ukraine, 119,969 people have been evacuated, of which 14,064 are children, as well as nearly 4 thousand representatives of the mobility-impaired categories of the population,' Ryabikin clarified.

For the accommodation of evacuees, there are 1,111 temporary accommodation places in Ukraine that are adapted for mobility-impaired citizens. Currently, a little over 80 thousand internally displaced persons are staying in these facilities.

The large-scale evacuation is caused by the constant shelling of frontline territories by Russian occupiers, which creates a critical threat to the lives of the civilian population.

The active evacuation operation in Ukraine continues, helping those who find themselves in danger due to shelling in frontline territories. In addition to those already evacuated, there is still a large number of those needing evacuation, and the government continues to act for their rescue.
