The Life and Service of Yevhenii Beshliaga: From Medical Training to the Front Lines

Born on May 24, 1985, in Kyiv, Yevhenii Beshliaga dedicated his life to medicine and serving others. Inspired from a young age to become a doctor, he gained extensive experience in trauma care before enrolling at the National Medical University named after O.O. Bohomolets. There, he honed the skills that would later save countless lives.

After graduating, Yevhenii worked at the M.M. Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery and later at Kyiv’s St. Michael’s Hospital. When armed conflict erupted in 2015, he chose to volunteer as a military medic, providing critical care to Ukrainian soldiers on the front lines.

Tragic Death and Enduring Legacy

Tragically, on May 21, 2023, while participating in an evacuation mission near Bakhmut, the vehicle carrying Yevhenii was struck by enemy fire, resulting in his death at the age of 37. His unwavering commitment to saving lives under fire left a profound impact on those who knew him and the broader medical community.

The loss of Yevhenii Beshliaga underscores the harsh and dangerous reality faced by medical professionals operating amid Ukraine’s ongoing conflict.
