Ukraine’s eRestoration Program

Over the past three years, Ukraine’s eRestoration program has disbursed 90 billion UAH in compensation to almost 200,000 families whose homes were damaged or destroyed during the war. This initiative makes Ukraine unique globally as a country implementing a state-run compensation program while facing a full-scale conflict.

According to official data, assistance has reached 196,067 Ukrainian families. Among them:

  • More than 138,000 families received 13.5 billion UAH for repairing damaged homes;
  • Over 56,000 families obtained housing certificates for destroyed properties, totaling 74.9 billion UAH;
  • More than 31,000 households purchased new homes, including over 11,000 internally displaced families.

Construction Funding and Housing Vouchers

The program also provides funding for building on privately owned land. The first tranche was granted to 794 families, amounting to 951.6 million UAH, while a second tranche supported 336 families with 420.6 million UAH. Additionally, 3,296 applications for housing vouchers have been approved for internally displaced persons from temporarily occupied territories, totaling 6.59 billion UAH. Overall, more than 38,000 applications have been submitted under this component.

The eRestoration program plays a critical role in supporting Ukrainian families affected by the war. It not only helps rebuild destroyed housing but also addresses the needs of internally displaced people by providing them with new homes. Amid an ongoing conflict, this project highlights the government’s efforts to restore living conditions and stabilize the lives of its citizens.

In addition to the substantial support provided through the eRestoration program, the Ukrainian government has recently allocated an extra 2 billion UAH for housing repairs. This funding aims to assist even more families in need, further enhancing the recovery efforts amid the ongoing conflict.
