More than 650 applications for the implementation of projects under the programs for the recovery of Ukraine have been submitted as part of joint programs with the European Investment Bank. Currently, the main focus is on frontline communities, the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development reported. 331 communities submitted 677 applications, with the leaders in terms of quantity being the communities of Lviv (60), Kyiv (53), Kharkiv (50), and Odesa (47) oblasts.
'The projects cover various areas, including heating, water supply, medical institutions, schools and kindergartens, shelters in communities, and more. Financial support is available for projects with a maximum cost of 5 million euros, and a mandatory condition is the contribution of communities of at least 23% co-financing,' the Ministry of Development stated.
According to Deputy Minister Oleksiy Ryabikin, more than 650 applications indicate the active position of local self-government and the need to restore critically important social infrastructure. A total of 128 projects have been approved for a sum of about 4.5 billion hryvnias, which will be implemented through technical support from UNDP in Ukraine.
Ukrainian communities are actively engaging in recovery programs, submitting projects for funding for works to restore social infrastructure and improve living conditions, especially in frontline communities. A certain number of projects have already been approved that can significantly improve the quality of life in various regions of Ukraine.
