Russia uses drones to intimidate Europe, - Zelensky
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia is trying to use drones over European countries to force them to hold missiles for foreign air defense systems ahead of expected winter attacks on Ukraine. He spoke about this during a response to journalists' questions, reports «Glavcom».
According to Zelensky, Ukraine is not receiving the necessary missiles in full because «partners are holding them and not transferring them».
«Still, I am grateful, we are receiving certain volumes of supplies», - he emphasized.
Zelensky also noted that Ukraine is currently unable to produce missiles for foreign air defense systems due to the lack of necessary licenses. He also attempted to resolve this issue at meetings with the administrations of former and current US presidents, but no decision has been made yet.
«We are looking, buying and receiving assistance», - he added.
Strengthening Ukraine's air defense
It is also known that earlier Zelensky held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff, where the issue of strengthening air defense was discussed. Ukraine has received additional «Patriot» systems.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius explained that due to the shutdown in the US, which delayed the process, Berlin cannot transfer additional 'Patriot' air defense systems to Ukraine any faster.
Ukraine needs to protect itself from possible winter attacks from Russia and continue to improve its air defense to ensure national security.
