Ukrainian Athletics Federation Council Holds Meeting

The Ukrainian Athletics Federation (UAF) Council convened in a hybrid format on February 26. A key outcome of this meeting was the approval of the charter for the UAF's new Anti-Doping Commission. This move represents a significant step forward in implementing the Federation's Anti-Doping Program, which was ratified last year.

Primary Objectives of the Anti-Doping Commission

The UAF's Anti-Doping Program was developed in collaboration with the National Anti-Doping Center and has undergone its official approval process. Oleksiy Serdyuchenko outlined the commission's core responsibilities, which include:

  • combating doping in athletics;
  • ensuring the execution of the UAF Anti-Doping Program;
  • integrating these provisions into the work of the UAF's governing and operational bodies;
  • monitoring compliance with the anti-doping rules of World Athletics, the National Anti-Doping Center, and the UAF.

The creation of this commission is part of the UAF's broader efforts to enhance the transparency and integrity of athletic competitions. This initiative aligns with global standards, which will help Ukrainian athletes compete internationally with greater confidence in the legitimacy of their performances. Maintaining clean sport is crucial for ensuring fair competition and upholding the reputation of Ukrainian athletics on the world stage.
