Supporting Farmers in Conflict-Affected Areas
Starting January 15, farmers operating in frontline regions can apply for financial assistance through a new voucher program via the State Agrarian Register (SAR). Denis Bashlyk announced the initiative, emphasizing that backing small and medium-sized agricultural producers in these vulnerable areas is a central focus of current state agricultural policy. This program is part of Ukraine's broader strategy to sustain its vital agricultural sector during the ongoing war.
The vouchers, valued at $1,500 (paid in the hryvnia equivalent), are designated specifically for the purchase of seeds and mineral fertilizers. This targeted support aims to help farmers overcome the severe operational challenges posed by the conflict and related economic pressures, enabling them to continue essential food production.
Government Measures to Bolster Agribusiness
This voucher scheme is one component of the government's wider efforts to maintain agricultural output and ensure national food security during wartime.
