World Cup Final in Aerial Skiing

The World Cup Final in aerial skiing will take place on January 11-12, 2026, in Lake Placid, USA. Ukrainian athlete Dmytro Kotovsky is fighting for victory in the overall standings and has a chance to obtain Olympic licenses for the 2026 Games. Currently, Kotovsky is in third place in the World Cup overall standings, trailing leader Tianma Li by 23 points.

The team competition scheduled for January 12 has been canceled. Oleksandr Abramenko, one of the coaches, expressed hope for the acquisition of seven Olympic licenses: four for men and three for women. This season, Ukrainian aerial skiers have already won two gold medals in the World Cup, highlighting their high level of preparation.

Competition Schedule

  • Final competitions for women: 21:00, after qualification at 16:00.
  • Final competitions for men: 21:20, after the qualification stage at 18:45.

The final ranking of athletes will be announced on January 13, after the conclusion of the stage in Lake Placid.

This World Cup final is a crucial stage not only for Ukrainian athletes but also for all skiing sports in Ukraine, as Olympic licenses are at stake. Given the successes of Ukrainian acrobats in previous competitions, their participation in the 2026 Olympics could significantly increase the popularity of this sport in the country. The cancellation of the team competitions also indicates potential organizational difficulties that may affect athletes' preparation for international events.
