The second round of the basketball Superleague playoffs has concluded, determining the final pairings. Dnipro and Kyiv-Basket have advanced to the finals, where they will compete for the championship crown. Meanwhile, Kharkivski Sokoly and Rivne will face off for the bronze medals.

The schedule for the decisive clashes of the 2025/26 Ukrainian Championship is as follows:

  • Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 3:00 PM: Kharkivski Sokoly vs. Rivne.
  • Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 2:00 PM: Dnipro vs. Kyiv-Basket.
  • Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 6:00 PM: Rivne vs. Kharkivski Sokoly.
  • Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 6:00 PM: Kyiv-Basket hosts Dnipro.

Road to the 2027 FIBA World Cup

On the international stage, the Ukrainian national basketball team suffered a defeat against Spain in the fourth round of qualifying for the 2027 FIBA World Cup. The game ended with a score of 78:64 (16:9, 12:12, 24:22, 26:21). Ukraine also lost to Spain in the third qualifying round, 66:86. However, the men’s national team secured an 88:71 victory over Denmark in the second round of qualifying for the 2027 World Cup.

Ukraine’s qualification campaign began strongly with a win in the first match against Georgia, finishing 79:92 (23:15, 25:28, 13:23, 18:26). The top scorer of that game was Oleksandr Kovliar, who recorded 31 points over 37 minutes, while Oleksandr Lypovyi added 13 points. Viacheslav Bobrov also stood out, achieving a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds.
