Financial support for the Ukrainian army in 2025

In 2025, the volumes of financial support for the Ukrainian army through the special account of the National Bank of Ukraine reached a record 88 billion UAH. This figure is 15 times higher than the amount allocated for defense needs in 2024, which was 5.9 billion UAH. Overall, in 2025, about 97 billion UAH flowed into the special account, which also indicates a significant increase in funding.

Distribution of funds among security forces

The largest recipient of funds was the Defense Procurement Agency, which received over 69.3 billion UAH. The Ministry of Defense received 36.6 billion UAH, while the State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine received 8.1 billion UAH. The National Police received 1.65 billion UAH, the National Guard received 1.64 billion UAH, and the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense received 1.49 billion UAH. The total distribution of funds among security forces amounted to 122.6 billion UAH.

As of January 1, 2026, there were over 24.7 billion UAH remaining in the account, indicating the continued financial support for the country's defense capabilities. These data reflect the growing attention to the needs of the Ukrainian army in light of current challenges and threats.

The significant increase in funding for the Ukrainian army in 2025 demonstrates the priority of defense expenditure in the state budget, driven by current security challenges. The balance in the special account at the beginning of 2026 indicates readiness to continue supporting the army, which could be an important factor in ensuring the stability and defense capabilities of the country in the future.
