Finland deported a Russian Wagner mercenary: why he was denied asylum

A Russian serviceman who was once a member of the PMC 'Wagner' and illegally crossed the border between Finland and Russia was deported from Finland. The man named Yevgen was detained on June 17 while trying to escape from the war, reports Yle citing 'Glavkom'.



Yevgen applied for international protection in Finland, but the Finnish immigration service decided to deny him refugee status and deport him from the country.



An unexpected incident on the Narva River


The Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs recorded an interesting case on the Narva River, which borders Russia. A Russian border patrol boat, which had the emblem of the private military company 'Wagner', was spotted at the border.



Representatives of the Estonian ministry expressed their surprise at the use of symbolism on the border patrol boat belonging to such a controversial organization as 'Wagner'.



In Finland, they deported a serviceman who was trying to escape from the war, while a Russian boat with the emblem of 'Wagner' was spotted on the Narva River border.
