Fortification of Critical Infrastructure: What Materials Are Being Purchased and at What Prices

Monitoring of procurement for the physical protection of critical infrastructure facilities continues. A meeting of the Coordination Staff was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, Oleksii Kuiba. During the meeting, it was emphasized that the main construction works are ongoing at most facilities, and the procurement of materials is conducted directly from manufacturers.

Procurement of Materials

Among the main materials being procured are rebar, concrete, metal structures, and fortification blocks. The cost of materials is as follows:

  • Rebar: 33,000 UAH per ton (procured in Kherson, Odesa, and Kharkiv regions).
  • Fortification blocks:
    • "Large": 8,200–8,445 UAH
    • "Small": 4,460–4,500 UAH
  • Concrete and concrete mixtures: 2,990–4,800 UAH per cubic meter.
  • Metal structures: 105,859–107,890 UAH per ton (procured in Odesa and Donetsk regions).

The mentioned material costs indicate concentrated efforts on strengthening critical infrastructure, which is an important element of the nation's security. The procurement system continues to adapt to the needs of construction, ensuring the necessary resources for carrying out physical protection works.

The strengthening of Ukraine's critical infrastructure in the current security situation is a priority task for the government.

The procurement of materials for fortification indicates activity in implementing measures aimed at protecting strategic facilities from potential threats. This also reflects the state's efforts to ensure the safety of the population and stability in the regions where work is being carried out.
