France Football announced the nominees for the Kopa Trophy: who is in the running for the best young footballer title

The prestigious French magazine France Football has announced the nominees for the Kopa Trophy - an annual award given to the best young footballer who is under 21 years old. This was reported by 'Glavkom'.


The shortlist of the award includes:



  • Pau Cubarsi ('Barcelona', Spain)

  • Aiyub Bouaddi ('Lille', France)

  • Désiré Due ('PSG', France)

  • Estevao ('Chelsea', Brazil)

  • Dean Heysen ('Real Madrid', Spain)

  • Myles Lewis-Skelly ('Arsenal', England)

  • Rodrigo Mora ('Porto', Portugal)

  • João Neves ('PSG', Portugal)

  • Lamine Yamal ('Barcelona', Spain)

  • Kenan Yildiz ('Juventus', Turkey)



The voting includes holders of the 'Ballon d'Or'. Each of them must choose three players from the list of nominees compiled by the editorial staff of France Football.



Award Ceremony


Last year, the best young footballer was recognized as Yamal. The award is named in honor of French striker Raymond Kopa, the holder of the 'Ballon d'Or' in 1958.



The Kopa Trophy award ceremony takes place simultaneously with the 'Ballon d'Or' award ceremony. The 'Ballon d'Or' ceremony for 2025 will be held in Paris on September 22.
