Gavi will allocate $10 million for immunization in Ukraine in 2026

In support of the immunization program in Ukraine, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, will allocate $10 million and 510,000 doses of vaccines in 2026. This reflects the high appreciation for the work of the Ministry of Health and confirms trust in the national immunization program, particularly the support for routine vaccinations.

“We are ensuring sustainable access to necessary vaccinations both in vaccination offices in medical institutions and during outings of mobile teams to communities across the country. Despite all challenges, we continue to strengthen the immunoprophylaxis system, expanding opportunities and partnerships, including with the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization, which has repeatedly supported Ukraine since the pandemic, providing stable support to our healthcare system during the war,” – Viktor Lyashko, Minister of Health.

Throughout 2025, the Ministry of Health, together with the national immunization program team, has successfully collaborated with GAVI, distributing over 2.7 million doses of vaccines and ensuring over 2 million vaccinations for children.

Support from GAVI for Ukraine

In addition to financial assistance, GAVI also continues to support Ukraine in implementing the updated National Vaccination Calendar, including vaccination against the human papillomavirus (HPV). This support includes training for healthcare workers, technical assistance, and public information.

Recently, the vaccine against HPV has been added to the national calendar of preventive vaccinations. The calendar now includes vaccinations against 11 infectious diseases, which are free for Ukrainians.
