Ukrainians have been told how to avoid gas leaks. According to 'Khvylyia', this was reported by the press service of the Kyiv branch of 'Hazmereshi' on Facebook.
Under Ukrainian law, planned maintenance of gas communications in high-rise buildings is mandatory. As part of such maintenance, diagnostics of gas mains is carried out, leak detection and elimination, as well as monitoring the condition of flue and ventilation systems.
Systematic maintenance is aimed at preventing emergencies and ensuring reliable gas supply. Omissions in control can lead to dangerous incidents. Therefore, it is important to carry out preventive maintenance, which includes a comprehensive examination of gas communications and their repair in case of detected malfunctions.
Planned maintenance of gas pipelines is recommended to be performed with varying frequency depending on the age of the system: once every five years for young systems and once every three years for older systems. The cost of the service can range from 100 to over 1000 hryvnias, depending on the place of residence.
Such measures not only ensure the safety of residents but also help avoid unwanted consequences in the future. Therefore, it is important to follow recommendations for maintaining gas systems in co-owned buildings.
