UN condemned human rights violations in Crimea: 79 countries supported the resolution

ООН засудила порушення прав людини в Криму: 79 країн підтримали відповідну резолюцію.

The UN General Assembly expressed support for the resolution proposed by Ukraine regarding human rights violations in temporarily occupied territories, particularly in Crimea and Sevastopol. The main provisions of this document call for an end to hostilities, the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian borders, and punishment for those guilty of crimes.



A total of 79 countries supported the resolution, but Russia, along with other countries including Belarus and China, expressed opposition. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine thanked international partners for their support, emphasizing the importance of adopting this resolution to protect the rights of Ukrainian citizens.



The General Assembly also adopted a resolution on the Chernobyl disaster, which outlined steps to enhance international cooperation and minimize the consequences of this tragedy. This document received support from 97 countries, but faced opposition from Russia, Belarus, China, and others.
