First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk, noted that the country needs modern anti-aircraft missile systems due to the growing threat of massive strikes from Russia. He believes that Russia will intensify attacks and increase the number of used means of destruction.
«The Kremlin will raise the stakes, the aggressor will increase the intensity of air attacks and the number of means of destruction. This is another challenge for us and for our partners and allies. Strikes on energy and residential buildings – this is a huge psychological pressure not only on Ukrainians,» – said Havryliuk.
The general explained that Ukraine needs modern anti-aircraft missile systems to effectively counter Russian attacks. Therefore, Kyiv has appealed to its partners to allocate at least 10 medium-range Patriot missile systems. These systems can be used to destroy Russian missiles, including hypersonic «Dagger» missiles.
«Strengthening Ukraine's air defenses is an important investment in the security of all of Europe,» – emphasized the general.
Overall, the development of the situation in Eastern Ukraine requires the country to implement modern defense systems to ensure security and quick response to unexpected threats.
