Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, together with the General Staff and the 'Kursk' troop management, successfully stabilized the situation in Sumy. Brigadier General Oleg Apostol, commander of the Air Assault Forces, emphasized the successful teamwork and the significant role of General Syrsky in this. He particularly noted the correctness of the proposals, assessments, and decisions made by the commander in achieving this goal.
The course of operations that he envisions is examined closely by General Syrsky; they suggest flexibility and a certain autonomy for unit commanders. I know this because I was among the very few to whom he first shared the idea of the Kursk operation.
According to Apostol, commanders operate independently in operational actions and adhere to the overall plan. The success of troop utilization in battle depends on their decisions. The General emphasized the importance of commanders in making strategic decisions and the proper allocation of troops.
As a result of the actions of the qualified staff and autonomous commanders, the situation in Sumy has been successfully stabilized, which attests to the effectiveness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the region.
