General Sobko has moved to the General Staff
According to sources in the Defense Forces, Brigadier General Serhiy Sobko has been transferred to the General Staff and is set to become acting Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapaty. Sobko has been reassigned from the position of Chief of Staff of the 11th Army Corps to the General Staff. He is awaiting official appointment and the definition of his powers. According to Suspilne, Sobko is already carrying out tasks assigned by Drapaty related to assessing the situation in the General Staff.
Combat path of Serhiy Sobko
Serhiy Sobko is a Hero of Ukraine who has been performing combat tasks in Donbas as a battalion commander since 2014. After the establishment of the Territorial Defense Forces in 2022, he took the position of Chief of Staff - Deputy Commander of the Territorial Defense Forces. At the beginning of the large-scale invasion, Sobko was one of the leaders of the defense of Kyiv. In March 2022, he was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General, and in 2024 he left the Territorial Defense Forces.
