Frontline Situation as of January 31
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has provided an update on the frontline situation for January 31. According to their report, Russian forces conducted massed airstrikes, artillery bombardments, and assault operations across multiple sectors. The most intense offensive activity was observed in the Pokrovsk direction.
The General Staff detailed the following enemy actions over the past day:
- 38 airstrikes;
- 119 guided aerial bombs;
- the deployment of 2,510 kamikaze drones.
A total of 303 combat engagements were recorded, alongside 2,437 instances of shelling targeting Ukrainian settlements and military positions. This fighting occurred on the 1,438th day of the full-scale war in Ukraine, a conflict that has become Europe's largest since World War II.
Activity Across Various Fronts
Numerous clashes and attacks took place across different sectors of the front. Specifically:
- On the South-Slobozhanske axis, 1 attack and 72 artillery strikes were recorded, 2 of which involved multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
- On the Kupiansk axis, Ukrainian forces repelled 12 attacks.
- On the Lyman axis, 23 attacks were reported.
- On the Sloviansk axis, the enemy made 8 attempts to advance, with 4 of these clashes still ongoing.
- On the Kramatorsk axis, 4 attacks occurred, with 3 engagements continuing.
On the Kostiantynivka axis, the enemy carried out 38 assaults, covering areas including Pleshchiivka, Shcherbynivka, and Rusyn Yar. On the Pokrovsk axis, 68 attacks were conducted, while on the Oleksandrivka axis, 9 attacks were halted. The Huliaipole axis saw 42 attacks, and the Orikhiv axis recorded 3.
According to the General Staff, intense combat operations persist, with Ukrainian forces continuing to resist the enemy's offensive pressure across the various fronts.
