After 158 Combat Clashes in One Day, Ukraine's General Staff Identifies the Hottest Frontline Sector

On June 22, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported intense fighting along the front, recording 158 combat engagements, 47 airstrikes, and 1,818 artillery bombardments. The most volatile situation was concentrated in the Pokrovsk sector.

Over the past day, Russian forces launched 47 airstrikes, dropping 150 guided aerial bombs. To support their assaults, the enemy deployed 8,862 kamikaze drones. Ukraine's defense forces documented 1,818 shelling incidents targeting civilian settlements and military positions, underscoring the ferocity of the hostilities.

Pokrovsk Sector: A Critical Flashpoint

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian forces eliminated 30 Russian troops and wounded 10 others. Additionally, they destroyed 4 enemy vehicles and 6 pieces of specialized equipment. Damage was inflicted on:

  • a drone control post,
  • 4 artillery systems,
  • 4 military vehicles,
  • 109 enemy shelters.

Overall, in the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian troops neutralized or suppressed 245 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types.

Fighting also flared up on other fronts. In the Northern Slobozhansk and Kursk sectors, there were 2 combat clashes, with the enemy conducting 54 shelling attacks—2 of which involved multiple rocket launchers. On the Southern Slobozhansk front, Russian forces launched 9 assaults on Ukrainian positions, while the Kupiansk sector saw 2 attacks.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy carried out 12 attacks, whereas Ukraine's defenders repelled 15 attempts in the Sloviansk sector. The Kramatorsk front recorded 1 enemy assault, and 11 attacks were beaten back in the Kostiantynivka area. On the Pokrovsk front, the enemy mounted 25 attacks; 3 were halted in the Oleksandrivsk sector, 18 in the Huliaipole area, and 1 in the Orikhiv direction.

According to the General Staff, this marks the 1,580th day of the full-scale war. The frontline situation remains challenging, with Ukrainian forces continuing active combat operations to defend the country's territorial integrity.

This report from the General Staff highlights the extreme intensity of ongoing fighting across multiple front sectors. Heavy losses and aggressive assaults from both sides indicate that the conflict not only persists but remains in a critical phase.
