As of the morning of May 20, 2026, Ukraine’s General Staff of the Armed Forces has released the newest casualty numbers for Russian forces. This update marks the 1,547th day of the full-scale war in Ukraine. Total personnel losses among Russian troops have reached 1,352,070, including 920 new casualties recorded over the past 24 hours.

Key Equipment Losses

Significant Russian military hardware losses include the following:

  • Tanks – 11,943 units (up by 3)
  • Armored combat vehicles – 24,586 units (up by 2)
  • Artillery systems – 42,400 units (up by 60)
  • Multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) – 1,795 units (up by 3)
  • Air defense systems – 1,388 units (up by 2)
  • Aircraft – 436
  • Helicopters – 353
  • Ground robotic complexes – 1,432 units (up by 6)

Additionally, losses of tactical-level unmanned aerial vehicles have reached 301,072 (up by 1,873), cruise missiles stand at 4,632, and naval losses include 33 ships and boats along with 2 submarines. Vehicle and fuel truck losses total 97,868 (up by 268), while specialized equipment losses amount to 4,206 units (up by 4).

These figures highlight the ongoing intensity of combat operations and the heavy toll on Russian forces. The daily increase in losses suggests possible shifts in tactics or operational tempo.
