Updated Russian Casualty Figures Released
As of the morning of Sunday, May 24, 2026, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has published the latest estimates of Russian military losses. This update comes on the 1,551st day of the full-scale war in Ukraine, a conflict that has now stretched well beyond four years.
According to the report, total Russian personnel losses have reached approximately 1,355,920, with 1,110 additional troops killed in the most recent period. On the equipment side, 11,950 tanks have been destroyed (a net increase of 1), while armored fighting vehicle losses now stand at 24,603 (+4). Artillery systems have suffered 42,640 losses (+61), and 1,800 multiple launch rocket systems have been eliminated (+1).

In addition, air defense systems have been reduced by 2 units, bringing the total to 1,396. Aircraft losses remain unchanged at 436, and helicopter losses at 353. Notably, ground robotic systems have seen 1,451 losses (+7), and operational-tactical UAVs have been destroyed in staggering numbers: 308,321, with 1,843 added in the last day. Cruise missile, ship, and submarine losses are static at 4,632, 33, and 2, respectively.
Ukrainian forces have also recorded 98,698 vehicles and fuel tankers destroyed (+292), along with 4,216 units of specialized equipment (+4). These figures underscore the ongoing intensity of the conflict and its heavy toll on Russian military assets.
The released data on Russian troop losses confirms the duration and ferocity of military operations in Ukraine. The significant casualties in both personnel and hardware highlight the severity of a war now exceeding 1,500 days.
