Updated Figures on Russian Military Losses

Ukraine’s General Staff of the Armed Forces released fresh data on Russian troop casualties as of the morning of April 28, 2026. This marks the 1,525th day since the full-scale invasion began.

According to the latest update, Russian personnel losses have reached approximately 1,327,640, with 1,180 additional casualties recorded in the past day alone. In terms of equipment, the number of destroyed Russian tanks remains unchanged at 11,892, while armored fighting vehicles now total 24,483 (up by 16). Artillery systems have reached 40,771 (plus 34), and multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) stand at 1,755 (plus 2).

Equipment Loss Breakdown

Additional losses include 1,354 air defense systems, 435 aircraft, and 350 helicopters. Tactical-level unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have suffered 260,258 losses (plus 1,039). Meanwhile, the count of lost cruise missiles remains at 4,579, ships and boats at 33, and submarines at 2. Vehicle losses, including trucks and fuel tankers, amount to 91,986 (plus 276), while specialized equipment totals 4,141 (plus 5).

These numbers underscore the prolonged and large-scale nature of the conflict in Ukraine, now in its fourth year. The heavy toll on Russian personnel and hardware points to significant challenges faced by its military.

The updated statistics also confirm ongoing intense combat operations, suggesting that a swift resolution to the war remains unlikely in the near term.
