Більше 1,3 мільйона російських військових втратили життя за час конфлікту, повідомляє Генеральний штаб України.

Updated Casualty Figures for Russian Invasion Forces

As of May 17, 2026, Ukraine’s Armed Forces General Staff has released fresh data on Russian troop losses, marking 1,544 days since the full-scale invasion began.

The latest estimates reveal severe attrition for Russia. Personnel casualties have reached approximately 1,348,790—an increase of 1,170 from the previous count. Key equipment losses include:

  • Tanks: 11,938 units (+1)
  • Armored combat vehicles: 24,578 (+4)
  • Artillery systems: 42,215 (+82)

Additional losses encompass multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) at 1,790 units (+2), air defense systems at 1,384 (+3), fixed-wing aircraft at 436 (+1), and helicopters remaining unchanged at 352. Ground robotic complexes have seen 1,410 units destroyed (+13), while tactical-level unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) total 295,454 (+2,131).

Other reported losses include 4,628 cruise missiles (+2), 33 naval vessels and boats, 2 submarines, 97,118 trucks and fuel tankers (+325), and 4,196 units of specialized equipment (+5). These numbers underscore the ongoing intensity of combat operations and the heavy toll on Russian forces.

The updated casualty data confirms the prolonged and fierce nature of the fighting in Ukraine.

Given these substantial losses, Russia’s combat effectiveness appears diminished, which could hinder its future operations. At the same time, the figures highlight Ukraine’s continued need for support from international partners as the armed conflict persists.
