Combat Operations as of February 21
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) has provided an update on combat operations as of February 21. Over the past day, 112 combat engagements were recorded across the front. The most intense fighting is currently concentrated on the Pokrovsk axis. Since the start of the day, the invading forces launched one missile strike involving 50 missiles and carried out 66 airstrikes, deploying 152 guided aerial bombs. The enemy also utilized 3,900 kamikaze drones and conducted 2,313 artillery attacks on Ukrainian settlements and military positions.
Situation on the Pokrovsk Axis
On the Pokrovsk axis, Ukrainian forces eliminated 22 occupiers and wounded 19. The following enemy equipment was destroyed:
- 77 unmanned aerial vehicles,
- one artillery system,
- an electronic warfare station,
- two automotive vehicles, and
- four units of special equipment.
Additionally, Ukrainian strikes damaged one artillery system, one electronic warfare station, seven automotive vehicles, and 12 personnel shelters on this front.
Combat activity was reported on other fronts as well. On the Northern-Slobozhansky and Kursk axes, one engagement occurred alongside 68 artillery attacks, six of which involved multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). On the Southern-Slobozhansky axis, the enemy attacked once in the Dvorichansky area, while on the Kupiansk axis, one attack towards Hlushkivka was repelled. On the Lyman axis, six attacks near Drobycheve were halted, and on the Sloviansk axis, four enemy attempts to advance were thwarted.
On the Kostiantynivka axis, occupiers stormed Ukrainian positions 13 times near Pleshiivka, Sofiyivka, and in the direction of Illinivka, Kostiantynivka, and Stepanivka. On the Oleksandrivka axis, six attacks in the areas of Stepove, Kalynivske, and Ternove were stopped. The Huliaipole axis saw 24 attacks, while on the Orikhiv axis, the enemy attacked twice near Prymorske and Stepove. This marks the 1,460th day of the full-scale war.
The frontline situation remains tense, particularly on the Pokrovsk axis, where the enemy is suffering its heaviest losses. The high level of combat activity underscores the continued escalation of the conflict, which could influence the future military operations and strategies of both sides. The ongoing war, now in its fourth year, continues to shape the security landscape of Eastern Europe. Sustained international support remains crucial for Ukraine's defense capabilities under these relentless conditions.
